PolyCast™ filament for professional metal casting
Polymaker PolyCast™ is a specially developed 3D printer filament for creating casting patterns for metal casting. The material is a modern alternative to traditional wax models. This allows for accurate casting patterns to be produced faster and more efficiently.
With PolyCast™, you can print complex shapes and fine details that are difficult or expensive to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. The filament is therefore highly suitable for prototypes, jewelry, technical parts, and small batches of metal components.
Benefits of PolyCast™ for investment casting
In traditional casting methods, a wax model is often made by hand first. This can be time-consuming and requires specialized knowledge. With PolyCast™, you can produce the necessary casting pattern directly with an FDM 3D printer.

Smooth surface with the Polysher™
A good surface quality of the printed model is important for a clean final result. PolyCast™ can be post-processed with the Polysher™ from Polymaker. The Micro-Droplet Polishing technology smooths out visible print layers, resulting in a significantly smoother surface for the final metal part.
Clean burnout with minimal residue
Ordinary 3D printer filaments can leave behind residue during burnout. This residue can cause damage, irregularities, or other defects in the casting.
PolyCast™ is specially formulated for clean burnout at high temperatures. This keeps the mold clean and reduces the risk of defects in the final metal product.
Is PolyCast™ easy to print?
PolyCast™ has good printability and can be used on almost any suitable FDM 3D printer. The print settings are similar to those of PLA. The material offers good dimensional stability, and support material is generally easy to remove.
After printing, the model can be smoothed with a Polysher™. It is then ready to be used in the casting process.
